Kwara fire service recovers body of 12-year-old girl
A 12-year-old girl named Nabilat has died after falling into a domestic well in Ilorin, Kwara State. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 15, 2025, around 10:35 a.m., according to reports.
According to the Kwara State Fire Service, the girl slipped while trying to fetch water, and one of her legs gave way, causing her to tumble into the well. The fire service was alerted by a resident, Mr. Mayowa, who placed a distress call. Firefighters deployed to the scene later recovered her body, which they handed over to a family member.
The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed deep sadness over the tragedy. He cautioned parents and guardians against sending children to fetch water from domestic wells, highlighting the risks such routines pose. He urged community members to observe greater safety in daily activities.
