
Kwara Polytechnic cult clash
One person has been confirmed dead following a violent cult clash at Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin. The incident, which occurred within the vicinity of the campus and surrounding community, threw students and residents into panic as rival groups reportedly engaged in a fierce confrontation that escalated into deadly violence.
Eyewitnesses said the clash happened suddenly, with suspected cult members attacking each other with dangerous weapons. During the chaos, a victim was fatally wounded and later confirmed dead. The violence also caused disruption to academic activities as students fled the area for safety. Some nearby shops were hurriedly locked as fear spread through the neighbourhood.
Security operatives were later deployed to the scene to restore calm and prevent further breakdown of law and order. The police cordoned off the affected area and began preliminary investigations into the incident. The body of the deceased was evacuated and taken to a morgue, while efforts to identify and track down those involved in the clash were immediately intensified.
