Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan resumed plenary in the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday after completing a six-month suspension. She entered the chamber around midday and proceeded to occupy the same seat she had earlier protested. P

Her suspension began on March 6, 2025, following a Senate ethics committee ruling that she had breached standing rules. The suspension barred her from entering the Senate complex, stripped her of security and salary, and suspended her privileges.

During her absence, Natasha challenged her suspension in court. In July 2025, a Federal High Court declared the six-month ban excessive and ordered her reinstatement.

On September 23, the Senate Wing office she had lost was unsealed, paving the way for her return.

Although her suspension has formally ended, the legal dispute over it remains unresolved in court.

Her return sparked reactions from lawmakers. Some greeted her with handshakes, while others watched quietly as she settled into her seat.

Her reappearance marks a significant moment not only for her political career but also for the representation of Kogi Central in the Senate.
