An activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has publicly accused Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian senator, of marrying Regina Daniels when she was under age and travelling internationally with her while she was still a minor.

Sowore released what he claims is Daniels’ passport, showing a date of birth of October 10, 2001, which if accurate would mean she was 17 at the time of their marriage in May 2019. He alleges that Nwoko introduced her to hard drugs and forced himself upon her, and points to international travel records to countries such as Egypt, Jordan and the UAE, while noting the absence of trips to jurisdictions where age scrutiny might have been higher.

Sowore further asserts that Nwoko manipulated legal and security institutions. He claims that Nwoko used the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Police Force to harass Daniels’ associates and family members, intercepted her private communications, and fabricated medical reports to pressure her.

At this time, these remain allegations. No official judicial ruling has been reported verifying the passport’s authenticity or legally confirming the claims of under‑age marriage, drug introduction or forced activity. Further investigation by relevant authorities would be required to verify and address the claims.
