Olisa Metuh joins APC
Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress, saying he felt abandoned by his former party during his years of legal and personal struggles. Metuh made the statement on the day he was received into the APC, where he openly expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of support from the party he once worked tirelessly to defend.
According to him, his decision to dump the PDP was driven by deep personal reflection and political realities. He said that during the period he faced serious challenges, including court cases and public attacks, neither the party nor many of the leaders he sacrificed for stood by him. He added that the experience made him re-evaluate his political loyalty and future direction.
Metuh stated that his move to the APC was not based on bitterness alone but on a desire to align with a platform he believes can offer him a fresh opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national development. He noted that politics should be built on mutual respect and support, especially in difficult times, which he believes was lacking in his former party.
Leaders of the APC who received him welcomed his defection and described it as a major political boost for the party. They assured him of full integration and support as he begins a new political journey. The defection has already sparked reactions across political circles, with analysts viewing it as another sign of shifting alliances ahead of future political contests.
