Oshiomhole says Tinubu making progress on insecurity
Former Edo State governor and APC elder Adams Oshiomhole has acknowledged that Nigeria’s security situation under President Bola Tinubu remains “far from ideal,” but argued that measurable progress has indeed been made.
In a recent interview, Oshiomhole credited Tinubu’s administration for improving coordination among security agencies and enabling access to previously unreachable areas in the North-East. He said that, under Tinubu, some zones that once required military escorts are now stable enough for civilians to travel more freely.
He also defended the frequent changes in military leadership, suggesting that it reflects Tinubu’s willingness to act decisively to get results rather than a sign of instability. Oshiomhole praised the armed forces, saying they deserve recognition for their efforts: “We must salute the effort of the armed forces … as if they are doing nothing.”
Oshiomhole maintained that Tinubu is deeply committed to ending insecurity, noting that no Nigerian is more concerned about achieving long-term peace than the president himself.
