Scott Iguma slams critics over Lagos remarks

Social critic Scott Iguma has criticized those who tell him to stop discussing Lagos issues and instead focus on his home state. In a video posted on social media, he showed the deteriorating state of the Ajah area of Lagos, citing stagnant water in that location for two to three years. He asked: “Are we building a mega city or a mega village?” and questioned why residents tolerate such neglect.

Iguma responded to critics who accuse him of only speaking about Lagos by challenging the logic of that demand. He argued that if Lagos becomes cleaner and better, everyone would benefit. He asked, “Why are you choosing stupidity over common sense?” when people insist he must only talk about his home state.

His remarks have stirred reactions online. Some people defend his right to critique Lagos, saying accountability matters regardless of where one is from. Others accuse him of tribalism or targeting a specific region unfairly. The debate underscores the tension between local loyalty and national criticism in Nigerian public discourse.
