SDP NEC ratifies appointment of new NWC members
The National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Party has ratified the appointment of new members into the party’s National Working Committee, strengthening its leadership structure ahead of future political activities in Nigeria.
During the NEC meeting, party leaders approved the nominations after deliberations on the need to reposition the party for effective administration and grassroots mobilization. Officials said the ratification was carried out in line with the party’s constitution and internal democratic procedures. The newly confirmed members are expected to play key roles in policy direction, party organization, and coordination of political strategies nationwide.
Party stakeholders noted that the restructuring of the National Working Committee is part of broader efforts to enhance efficiency within the SDP and ensure that the party remains competitive in Nigeria’s political landscape. They stressed that strong leadership at the national level would help the party expand its support base and strengthen internal unity.
Members of the NEC also emphasized the importance of collaboration among party leaders and supporters as preparations gradually begin for upcoming political engagements. According to party officials, the newly ratified NWC members will work closely with state chapters to deepen grassroots participation and improve party operations across the country.
Observers say the development could signal renewed momentum for the Social Democratic Party as it seeks to consolidate its position and attract more members. Political analysts believe that strengthening party structures is crucial for smaller parties aiming to challenge dominant political forces in Nigeria.
