Singer Brandy walks off stage mid-concert
Singer Brandy abruptly walked off stage during a concert in Chicago while performing with Monica as part of their joint “The Boy Is Mine” tour.
During her performance at the United Center, Brandy stopped mid-song and told fans, “Give me one second, y’all, I gotta get my …” before leaving the stage. She did not return to perform the remainder of the set. Monica continued the show solo and the concert ended without their famous duet “The Boy Is Mine.”
In a statement shared afterward, Brandy apologized to her fans and explained that she had been experiencing dehydration and “feelings of wanting to faint” following weeks of nonstop rehearsals. She said that although she tried to adjust and continue, it became impossible to “fully connect sonically with the production. Brandy added that she went from the arena to see a doctor and will take precautions going forward, with plans to return to the stage for the next show in Indianapolis.
