Super Eagles open camp November 9
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will convene in training camp in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, ahead of the African playoff rounds for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The move comes as Nigeria prepares for the pivotal semi-final match in the African playoff bracket — the first step toward securing one of the continent’s remaining World Cup berths. The camp has been organised by the Nigeria Football Federation under the guidance of Head Coach Eric Chelle, who has finalised his training and logistics programme in anticipation.
According to reports, Nigeria’s playoff opener is scheduled for November 13 against Gabon National Football Team. If victorious, the Super Eagles will advance to a final matchup on November 16 against the winner of the showdown between Cameroon National Football Team and DR Congo National Football Team.
The NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and affirmed full backing from relevant government agencies. He emphasised that all preparations are being handled to maximise Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the global showpiece.
For the Super Eagles, missing out on the 2022 World Cup remains a motivating factor. This camp marks a crucial moment to sharpen tactical focus, foster team cohesion, and acclimatise to the Moroccan environment under playoff conditions.
