Suspects microwaved chicken during burglary
Two men arrested for a burglary incident in Lagos have reportedly confessed to eating microwaved chicken and drinking a soft drink while inside the victim’s home. The suspects, identified by the police as part of a notorious gang, were apprehended after a series of housebreaking cases in the area.
According to police reports, the duo broke into a residential apartment late at night and, after stealing valuables, decided to reheat a plate of chicken they found in the refrigerator. They allegedly used the microwave, ate the meal, and washed it down with a chilled soft drink from the fridge before leaving with stolen items, including electronics and cash.
The homeowner, upon returning, noticed the missing belongings and found traces of food and drink left behind, which led to suspicions of the break-in. Police investigators used CCTV footage and neighborhood surveillance to trace and arrest the suspects, who later admitted to the crime during interrogation.
Authorities have described the incident as both shocking and careless on the part of the criminals, noting that their actions helped link them to the crime scene. The suspects are now in custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine whether they are connected to other burglary cases within the area.
