The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser 2Baba Idibia.
Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has addressed what he describes as the biggest misconception about his personal life, saying that he is not a womaniser but rather a “lover boy” who loves deeply and expresses his feelings openly. In a recent interview with the Voice of Nigeria, the award-winning singer explained that people often misinterpret his openness about relationships and affection for women as promiscuity, but he insisted that this perception does not reflect who he truly is. 2Baba said that the label of being a womaniser has followed him for many years, yet he believes that his straightforward nature and honesty about his emotions are responsible for the narrative that has surrounded him. He stated that while he likes women and is open about it, he loves with intensity and commitment, preferring to describe himself as someone who falls in love hard rather than someone who casually engages with many partners. His remarks came amidst ongoing public interest in his personal life, including his role as a father to eight children and his marriage to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, whom he wed in 2025. 2Baba also reflected on the challenges of balancing his demanding music career with family life, expressing both pride in his children and regret for not spending as much time with them collectively as he would have wished. The singer’s clarification aims to reshape public understanding of his character and personal choices, emphasising that labels based on rumours and speculation can be misleading.
