Victor Osimhen nominated for 2025 CAF Player of the Year
Victor Osimhen, the star striker for Super Eagles, has been nominated for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Men’s Player of the Year award for 2025.
His nomination reflects a standout season for both club and country. Playing for Galatasaray in the 2024-25 campaign, Osimhen reportedly scored 37 goals and recorded seven assists in 41 appearances, helping the club win titles. For Nigeria, he played a key role in the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign, further enhancing his credentials for the continental award.
This nomination comes after Osimhen’s historic win of the CAF Player of the Year award in 2023—becoming the first Nigerian to claim the men’s title since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
