Bandits kill NYSC graduate in Kaduna

A man, Jeremiah Stephen Adini, who had just completed his year of service with the NYSC two months ago, was killed by bandits in Kaduna State. He was travelling with a driver toward Kachia in the evening, when men armed with guns emerged from the bush and attacked their vehicle. The driver and Adini died on the spot. A third person in the vehicle survived and later described what happened. Locals say this route has seen several deadly attacks in recent weeks, yet little has been done by authorities to protect travellers. Jeremiah was from Awon Village in Kachia Local Government Area and is survived by a wife.

Many residents are upset, saying the government has not acted despite frequent warnings and rumors of danger along that road. The death of Jeremiah, who had finished the compulsory NYSC programme, has sparked grief and anger in his community.
