ADC poised to challenge Tinubu in 2027 election
Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development Solomon Dalung says that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has enough capable candidates to mount a serious challenge against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. Dalung made the comments during an interview on Sunday Politics, a current affairs programme, emphasising his belief that the opposition party’s ranks include politicians with the experience and influence to confront the ruling party at the polls. He argued that defeating Tinubu will require a collective effort from the ADC and its allies, rather than reliance on a single personality, and stated his own willingness to contest the presidency if given the opportunity. Dalung highlighted that the party houses a number of veteran politicians and figures who could potentially lead a credible campaign against the incumbent. His remarks reflect growing political discourse as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 election, with opposition forces seeking unity and strength ahead of the contest.
