JAMB Announces First 2026 UTME Results, Issues Warning on Score Manipulation
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, while warning candidates and the public against attempts to manipulate scores.
The examination body confirmed that the results were processed and made available shortly after the conduct of the nationwide exam. Candidates who participated in the exercise have been advised to check their results through the official channels provided by JAMB.
In its statement, JAMB stressed that the result system is secure and protected against unauthorized access. The board warned that any individual or group claiming to upgrade or alter scores is engaging in fraud. It added that such activities are illegal and could lead to serious consequences for those involved.
The board noted that some fraudulent agents have already begun circulating messages promising score upgrades for a fee. JAMB urged candidates and parents to ignore such claims, stating clearly that results cannot be changed once officially released.
JAMB also reassured candidates that the marking and grading process followed strict guidelines to ensure fairness and accuracy. The board emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination and ensuring that all candidates are assessed based on merit.
In addition, the agency advised candidates to report any suspicious messages or individuals offering result manipulation services. It reiterated that all official updates and result checks should only be done through its verified platforms.
The release of the first batch of results marks a key stage in the 2026 admission process, as candidates begin to plan their next steps toward securing admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
