Military Declares Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, ‘Gentle The Yahoo,’ Wanted With N30m Bounty
The Nigerian Army, through the Joint Task Force South-East under Operation Udoka, has declared Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, popularly known as “Gentle The Yahoo,” wanted over suspected involvement in violent and other criminal activities, offering a N30 million reward for credible information leading to his arrest.
In a wanted notice circulated by the task force on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Okorienta was described as a suspected threat to peace in the South-East, with members of the public urged to provide information that could assist security agencies in locating him. According to the notice, a reward of N30,000,000 awaits anyone who provides credible information leading to his capture, with the task force stressing that all information could be submitted anonymously. The notice, which features a photograph of Okorienta, carries the accompanying campaign messages “No Violence, No Criminality in the South East” and “Give Peace a Chance.”
Members of the public with relevant information have been advised to contact security authorities through the emergency line 193 or via the phone number 0806 795 9570. The military also issued a caution against members of the public attempting to confront or apprehend the suspect themselves should they come across him, urging residents instead to immediately alert the appropriate security authorities through the designated contact channels rather than take any direct action on their own.
The task force further called on residents across the South-East to support ongoing efforts to curb violence and criminality in the region, framing the appeal as part of a broader campaign encouraging community cooperation with security agencies.
