Victor Osimhen Addresses Galatasaray Exit Rumours Amid Arsenal Transfer Interest
Victor Osimhen has refused to rule out leaving Galatasaray amid growing transfer interest from Arsenal. The Nigerian striker spoke about his future after helping Galatasaray open their 2026-27 Turkish Super Lig campaign with a 2-2 draw against Corum FK.
Osimhen scored both of Galatasaray’s goals in the frustrating draw at Rams Park. However, the result left the reigning Turkish champions disappointed as they dropped points against the newly promoted side on the opening weekend.
After the final whistle, Osimhen went towards the Galatasaray supporters and apologised for the result. The Nigeria international appeared determined to take responsibility for the disappointing outcome despite scoring twice.
The striker was later asked about reports linking him with a move to Arsenal. Osimhen did not confirm that he wants to leave Galatasaray, but he also stopped short of committing his long-term future to the Turkish club.
“There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about what comes next then,” Osimhen said.
His response has added fresh uncertainty to the Arsenal transfer story. The Premier League club has reportedly discussed the possibility of signing Osimhen during negotiations involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029. That long-term deal gives the Turkish giants a strong position in any potential negotiations for the striker.
The 27-year-old has become an important figure at Galatasaray since his move to the club. His goals have played a major role in the team’s success, and the club will be reluctant to lose him unless a suitable agreement can be reached.
Despite the transfer speculation, Osimhen insisted that his immediate focus remains on Galatasaray. He said he is ready to give everything for the club if he remains in Istanbul beyond the summer transfer deadline.
“It’s going to be a tough season. The team is aware of that. I’m ready to give everything for this club,” he said.
The Nigerian forward also called on his teammates to respond quickly after the disappointing opening-day result. Galatasaray are preparing for another demanding season that includes domestic competition and the Champions League.
Osimhen said the team must build momentum before their Champions League campaign begins. He also praised the supporters for their strong backing and urged the players to repay that support with better performances.
Arsenal’s reported interest could make the final stages of the transfer window particularly interesting for Osimhen. The Gunners are looking to strengthen their attacking options, while Galatasaray will be keen to keep one of their most important players.
For now, Osimhen remains a Galatasaray player. However, his decision not to completely dismiss the possibility of a transfer has ensured that speculation over his future will continue until the transfer window closes.
