Europe’s major football leagues delivered an eventful opening weekend of action, with several traditional heavyweights registering statement results as the 2026/27 campaign gathered pace across England, Spain, Italy and France.
Premier League
The new Premier League season kicked off in style, with Chelsea coming from behind to beat Fulham 3-2 in an entertaining west London derby.
