A young woman named Temmy, who sells slippers under the Oshodi bridge in Lagos, shared how she was deeply hurt after her boyfriend dumped her, even though she paid his school fees and helped him financially many times. She said she often gave him amounts like ₦50,000 or ₦20,000 while he was in school. Despite her support, he left her and later married another woman who was educated. This experience made her lose confidence in love.

In another case, a woman known as @storeroomngcoach on TikTok explained that she took her ex-boyfriend’s last ₦25,000 without his knowledge to start a business. The ex-boyfriend broke up with her at the time. Later, after her business began to grow, he tried to come back, claiming he had been investing in her progress. She asked netizens whether she should go back to him.

Also, a woman shared her pain after lending her man ₦200,000. She said she had accepted him back into her life after he begged, believing he had changed. Shortly after, he collected the money and blocked her on all social media platforms.

These stories highlight a pattern: emotional investment mixed with financial help, followed by disappointment when one partner takes advantage or behaves unfaithfully.
