Daddy Freeze celebrates Hushpuppi kindness in time of need

Media personality Daddy Freeze has made fresh comments about his relationship with Ramon Abbas, known popularly as Hushpuppi. Daddy Freeze said he holds no support for fraud, but he defended the friendship because Hushpuppi offered him kindness during a period of rejection. He described how his church and many people he trusted distanced themselves from him when he began calling out abuses within church institutions.

Daddy Freeze explained that Hushpuppi was never a financial benefactor to him; he said he did not receive a single dollar from the socialite. Instead, he appreciated Hushpuppi’s emotional support when others refused to stand by him. He recalled a time when he was invited to Dubai with other influencers. He said at that time he had started the #FreeTheSheeple movement, and both church members and peers reportedly turned their backs on him. It was during this difficult period that Hushpuppi reached out, invited him over via direct message, and showed friendship.

Although Daddy Freeze acknowledged that he had suspicions about the legitimacy of Hushpuppi’s wealth, he maintained that friendship should not be measured solely by wealth or public image. He cited lyrics from a song by Davido — “dey for who dey for you” — to make his point about loyalty and standing with people who show you solidarity.

These remarks have reignited debates online. Some Nigerians argue that supporting someone who was later convicted undermines moral expectations. Others defend Freeze’s position, saying loyalty and human kindness are not the same as condoning wrongdoing. The conversation reflects broader tensions about conviction, repentance, and social accountability.
