Henry Okoye, the eldest brother of the Okoye family and elder sibling of defunct music duo P-Square’s Peter and Paul, has expressed doubt that the estranged twins will ever fully mend their fractured relationship, warning that their prolonged and increasingly public dispute may have caused irreparable damage.
Speaking in an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at their father’s residence in Plateau State on Friday, Henry addressed the renewed crisis involving the Okoye brothers, saying that although Peter had made visible efforts to resolve the disagreement, he remained unconvinced that the twins would ever return to the closeness they once shared. Henry said he had personally watched the various video series Peter had released detailing what transpired between the two, describing the ongoing situation as something he continues to pray over.
Reflecting on the change in his younger brother Paul’s personality over the years, Henry recalled that Paul had once been widely regarded as the kindest member of the family, a trait that made his more recent conduct all the more surprising to him. He went as far as to question, without offering evidence, whether Jude Okoye might have used “juju” to influence Paul’s behaviour, describing the shift in his brother’s disposition as difficult to otherwise explain. Henry clarified that the claim remains his own personal speculation rather than a substantiated allegation.
Despite his pessimism about a full reconciliation, Henry appealed directly to Paul to consider ending the rift with his twin, reminding him of the support Peter had extended during his own hospitalisation in the past. He said he had personally forgiven his siblings for the pain caused by the family’s prolonged divisions and urged all parties to find a way to move past the dispute, even as he acknowledged the depth of the damage that had already been done.
Henry’s intervention adds another voice to a growing list of family members who have weighed in on the Okoye family’s long-running feud, which traces back to 2017 and saw a brief reunion of the twins in 2021 before their relationship collapsed again in 2024. His comments followed earlier remarks in the same interview in which he accused Jude, the group’s former manager, of being the central figure behind the family’s prolonged division, alleging that relationships within the household deteriorated significantly after Jude assumed control of the twins’ career. Henry also urged Jude specifically to take steps toward restoring unity within the wider family, describing it as necessary for any lasting resolution.
The renewed public commentary from Henry comes amid a broader unravelling of the Okoye family dispute in recent days, with Peter Okoye separately alleging in a video posted this week that Paul had failed to honour a childhood promise between them, a claim that has further fuelled public speculation over whether the twins’ rift can ever be repaired.
