Poco Lee Breaks Silence After UK Release, Maintains Innocence Ahead of Snaresbrook Trial Hearing
Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has broken his silence following his release from detention in the United Kingdom, maintaining his innocence over the sexual offence allegations against him and offering cautionary remarks to other men about navigating relationships with women.
Speaking during a video call with social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, shared on Sunday, Poco Lee said his conscience remained clear throughout his time in custody, stating that his primary concern while detained was not for himself but for the people around him whose businesses and social media activities were affected by his absence. He went on to advise men to exercise considerably more caution in their dealings with women, remarking that men should spend a significant portion of each day, which he humorously quantified as eighteen out of twenty-four hours, being wary in their interactions with women. The comment has since triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users treating the remark humorously while others cautioned that it was premature given the ongoing legal proceedings against him.
The entertainer, whose full name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, also expressed gratitude to Afrobeats star Burna Boy and socialite Rahman Jago for publicly supporting him during his legal ordeal, acknowledging that few people would typically want to associate themselves with someone facing such serious allegations. He maintained throughout the conversation that he had done nothing wrong, asserting that his conscience would only trouble him if the allegations against him were true.
Poco Lee faces five sexual offence charges in the UK, comprising two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of assault by penetration, relating to an alleged incident in Tower Hamlets, east London, on July 23, 2026. He first appeared before Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 18, before the case was transferred to Snaresbrook Crown Court. Despite online claims suggesting the charges had been dropped or the matter settled out of court, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active, with a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing scheduled for September 15, 2026, at which matters including his plea and preparations for a possible trial are expected to be addressed. A reporting restriction remains in place to protect the identity of the complainant in the case.
Poco Lee had travelled to the United Kingdom in August for the “Davido and Friends” concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14, shortly before his reported detention. The circumstances and conditions surrounding his release have not been officially disclosed by the prosecution service. Separately, the dancer has also faced unrelated allegations of sexual misconduct raised by American rapper Ms Jorji concerning an alleged 2024 encounter in Dallas, Texas, claims he has likewise denied.
As the case proceeds toward its scheduled hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Poco Lee’s latest public remarks mark his most substantive comments yet on the allegations, though he has not been convicted of any offence and the matter remains before the court.
