Rudeboy Breaks Silence Over Mr P’s Claims on Lola, Late Mother
Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted to fresh allegations made by his twin brother, Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P, concerning their late mother, Josephine Okoye, and Peter’s wife, Lola Omotayo, amid the continuing public fallout within the Okoye family.
Mr P made the claims in the eighth episode of an ongoing video series documenting the long-running dispute within the family, released on Thursday. In the episode, he alleged that shortly after the birth of his son, his late mother and several family members confronted him and Lola during a meeting at his residence in Omole, Lagos. According to Mr P, those present included their mother, brothers Jude, Rudeboy, and Tony, as well as pastors, and he claimed that neither he nor Lola was given a proper welcome upon entering the room.
Mr P alleged that their mother told Lola directly that the Okoye family had decided she should end her relationship with him, and that his brother Jude made a derogatory comment about his infant son during the confrontation, which reportedly left Lola in tears. He further claimed the situation escalated to the point where pastors present attempted to calm his wife before she was ultimately pushed out of the house.
According to Mr P, tensions had begun even earlier, alleging that Jude and Rudeboy had opposed Lola’s pregnancy and that an anonymous email questioning the paternity of his then-unborn son had circulated within the family. He said their mother later acknowledged that the child was indeed his biological son and instructed his brothers to apologise to him, but that the apology never came before her death.
Mr P also used the episode to reject long-standing claims that Lola had a strained relationship with his late mother, insisting instead that the two remained close and that his wife had cared for Josephine Okoye during her illness, staying with her at the hospital until midnight and personally driving visiting pastors home each day for more than two months.
Responding to the allegations on Friday, Rudeboy did not directly address the specific claims made by his twin brother. Instead, he shared a brief message on his X account addressing their late mother directly, writing that she was unfortunately not present to defend herself and telling her to continue resting. The message has been widely interpreted by fans and commentators as an implicit defence of their mother against the allegations raised by Peter, though Rudeboy stopped short of disputing any individual claim.
The exchange marks the latest chapter in a broader, increasingly public dispute involving Peter, Paul, and their elder brother Jude, which has in recent months touched on the collapse of the group’s reunion, disputes over royalties and business management, and now extended into deeply personal family matters involving their late mother and Peter’s marriage.
