How Nigerians Can Apply for ECOWAS Fully Funded Graduate Programme
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has opened applications for its 2027 Young Graduates Immersion Programme, offering young Nigerians and other eligible citizens of member states a one-year, fully funded professional placement across ECOWAS institutions and agencies.
The regional bloc announced the opportunity in a notice published on July 31, 2026, describing it as an invitation for dynamic young graduates from ECOWAS member states to kick-start their careers with professional experience within a regional institution. According to the announcement, the programme allows young professionals to actively contribute to regional integration strategies while developing high-level skills alongside sector experts.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify for the programme, applicants must be citizens of an ECOWAS member state, which includes Nigeria, Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Candidates must also be 32 years old or younger and hold a degree in a relevant field from a recognised institution, with the qualification ranging from a bachelor’s to a doctorate degree.

Applications opened on July 31, 2026, and will close on August 31, 2026, giving interested candidates roughly one month to complete and submit their applications.
